The Nintendo Switch 2 will support backwards compatibility. This means that current Switch players will be able to use their games on the Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo has announced a new Nintendo Direct presentation that will showcase upcoming games for the Nintendo Switch 2. Users can use the funds to buy content on any of these consoles and systems until 27 March 2023 if they have linked their Nintendo Network ID funds (used on the Nintendo eShop for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS) with the funds attached to their Nintendo Account (used on the Nintendo Switch eShop). Following that, the money can only be used on Nintendo Switch content. No changes are planned on Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch.
