For reference, the original expiration deal of Nokia and HMD Global’s partnership was set for 2026. Earlier this year, HMD stopped making Nokia-branded smartphones and had them unlisted on their website. As per the ‘renewed’ agreement, HMD won’t return to the smartphone market bearing Nokia’s name. Now, the HMD is to direct their focus on producing and selling Nokia-branded feature phones. In terms of business, Nokia had an operating profit of EUR 156 million on net sales of EUR 4.39 billion in Q1 2025.
