Canon may be preparing to enter the pocket gimbal camera segment, based on a newly published patent that outlines a compact, stabilized handheld device aimed at content creators. Earlier filings included more ambitious designs such as interchangeable-lens systems, while the latest focuses on a more compact, fixed-lens approach, closer to existing products like DJI’s Osmo Pocket series. DJI recently updated its Osmo Pocket lineup, while other brands are also exploring compact, creator-focused camera systems. DJI has started teasing the upcoming Osmo Pocket 4P, confirming that the compact camera will have a second camera with 3x optical zoom. Based on the teaser, the Osmo Pocket 4P will feature a dual-camera setup. The second camera is a telephoto lens designed for zoom shots, while the main camera is expected to use the same 1-inch sensor found in the regular Osmo Pocket 4.
