The DJI Osmo Pocket 4 has become the standard tool of choice for vloggers, content creators, and anyone wanting to take videos on-the-go. Its compact size means you can take it just about anywhere – and when paired with amazing quality for the form factor, its fame is well-deserved. That’s why OPPO and vivo seem to be developing something to compete with it.

According to Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the device/s in question will feature a 200-megapixel sensor. This is highly likely to be the LYTIA-901, a unit released last year. It features a 1/1.12-inch sensor size with 0.7µm pixels, a larger unit with bigger pixels than Samsung’s 200MP Isocell HP2 sensor found in the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Considering the brands’ optical partnerships, OPPO’s device is slated to carry the Hasselblad label – while vivo’s will be Zeiss-branded. Industry news points towards both sheltering flagship-level chips with next-level optimization for their brand’s own respective smartphone lineups.
This is a big step for the industry. Despite the Osmo Pocket 4’s 4K recording capabilities, it still is only a 37-megapixel sensor. While we’ve gone beyond the “more megapixels is better” mindset, the fact that these devices will have more than 5 times the megapixel count is a considerable leap.
Whether OPPO and vivo can maximize the better hardware is another story entirely. DJI has significant experience in the gimbal/camera industry which shows in the maturity of their products.
We’ll have to wait and see.
