The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has introduced new rules aimed at making electronic payment fees fairer and more transparent, while also lifting the moratorium on increases in InstaPay and PESONet transaction charges. M-2026-025 issued on June 17, the BSP announced that the Monetary Board approved the lifting of the fee increase moratorium for InstaPay and PESONet transactions. Several banks and e-wallet providers in the Philippines currently offer free InstaPay and PESONet transfers either unli­mited or within set quotas, making digital payments and fund transfers more affordable across different user segments. The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) is taking a stand against slow refunds and unfair fees for failed PESONet and InstaPay transactions. While batch clearing payments such as PESONet, refunds must be cleared within two (2) hours.
