Qualcomm has announced two next-generation spatial computing platforms, the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 and the Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1. Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 The Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 on the other hand is designed for sleek, lightweight smart glasses to allow capture, share, and live-stream directly from the glasses hands-free. Both chips are developed closely in partnership with Meta which debuted their Meta Quest 3 which is powered by the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 and its Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses that use the Snapdragon AR1 platform. Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon C platform, a new processor designed for entry-level laptops priced starting at around USD 300. Qualcomm said laptops powered by Snapdragon C are expected to launch later this year from brands including Acer, HP, and Lenovo. Qualcomm has announced the new Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processors. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 includes AI-powered camera features, Qualcomm Adaptive Performance Engine 4.0 for gaming, up to 21% better GPU performanc, and support for Wi-Fi 7 and ultra-fast 5G connectivity. According to Qualcomm, upcoming devices powered by Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 will come from brands including HONOR and REDMI.
