Qualcomm has officially announced world's first 2 Gbps LTE modem called the Snapdragon X24. The Snapdragon X24 LTE modem supports "up to 7x carrier aggregation in the downlink", including 4x4 MIMO on up to five aggregated LTE carriers. The Snapdragon X24 LTE will be demoed at MWC 2018 in partnership with Ericsson, NETGEAR, and Telstra. Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon C platform, a new processor designed for entry-level laptops priced starting at around USD 300. Qualcomm said laptops powered by Snapdragon C are expected to launch later this year from brands including Acer, HP, and Lenovo. Qualcomm has announced the new Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processors. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 includes AI-powered camera features, Qualcomm Adaptive Performance Engine 4.0 for gaming, up to 21% better GPU performanc, and support for Wi-Fi 7 and ultra-fast 5G connectivity. According to Qualcomm, upcoming devices powered by Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 will come from brands including HONOR and REDMI.
