Qualcomm has announced two next-generation spatial computing platforms, the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 and the Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1. Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 The Snapdragon XR Gen 2 mashes both MR and VR technology into a single chip that will be seen on slimmer and more comfortable headsets that won't be needing an external battery pack. Both chips are developed closely in partnership with Meta which debuted their Meta Quest 3 which is powered by the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 and its Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses that use the Snapdragon AR1 platform. Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon C platform, a new processor designed for entry-level laptops priced starting at around USD 300. Qualcomm said laptops powered by Snapdragon C are expected to launch later this year from brands including Acer, HP, and Lenovo. Qualcomm has announced the new Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processors. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 includes AI-powered camera features, Qualcomm Adaptive Performance Engine 4.0 for gaming, up to 21% better GPU performanc, and support for Wi-Fi 7 and ultra-fast 5G connectivity. According to Qualcomm, upcoming devices powered by Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 will come from brands including HONOR and REDMI.
