OPPO has confirmed that some of its upcoming phones will soon support Apple’s AirDrop-style file sharing through Quick Share, making it easier to send files between OPPO devices and Apple products. This means users can send photos, videos, and other files across Android and Apple devices using Quick Share. The update aims to improve cross-platform file sharing, which has long been difficult between Android and Apple devices. With the new Quick Share support, file transfers can happen directly between devices without installing additional software. Additional updates include Larger Text support for tvOS, improved hearing aid pairing and support for the Sony Access Controller on Apple devices. The feature, commonly referred to as AirDrop over Quick Share, allows compatible Android devices to detect and send files directly to nearby Apple devices such as iPhones and Macs. The device can detect nearby Apple devices set to “Everyone” mode and send files seamlessly, with transfers also working in reverse. By leveraging Quick Share, Google is effectively enabling a workaround that mimics AirDrop functionality without native Apple integration.
