Quick Share’s AirDrop feature spreads OPPO and vivo

Listen to article

Google’s AirDrop-like file sharing feature is expanding to more Android devices, with new support now confirmed on select phones from Oppo and Vivo.

The feature, commonly referred to as AirDrop over Quick Share, allows compatible Android devices to detect and send files directly to nearby Apple devices such as iPhones and Macs.

Originally introduced on the Pixel 10 series, the capability has gradually expanded. Support later arrived on the Pixel 9 lineup and Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series, with additional Galaxy devices gaining access through beta updates.

Now, the rollout continues with the Oppo Find X9 Ultra, where the feature has been enabled through a recent software update. The device can detect nearby Apple devices set to “Everyone” mode and send files seamlessly, with transfers also working in reverse.

The Vivo X300 Ultra has also begun supporting the feature, though the rollout appears to have arrived quietly without prior announcement.

This marks a notable step in bridging the gap between Android and Apple ecosystems, which have traditionally limited cross-platform file sharing. By leveraging Quick Share, Google is effectively enabling a workaround that mimics AirDrop functionality without native Apple integration.

There is still no official word on which devices will be next to receive support, but the addition of Oppo and Vivo suggests broader rollout plans may be underway.
