Google’s AirDrop-like file sharing feature is expanding to more Android devices, with new support now confirmed on select phones from Oppo and Vivo. The feature, commonly referred to as AirDrop over Quick Share, allows compatible Android devices to detect and send files directly to nearby Apple devices such as iPhones and Macs. By leveraging Quick Share, Google is effectively enabling a workaround that mimics AirDrop functionality without native Apple integration. Google is bringing its Quick Share with AirDrop interoperability to the Pixel 9 series. The feature, first introduced with the Pixel 10 lineup last year, now allows Pixel 9 series users to send and receive files directly to and from Apple devices using AirDrop. Supported Pixel devices enable users to discover nearby AirDrop-compatible Apple devices when the feature is activated. Google is finally opening up its AirDrop-compatible Quick Share feature to more Android devices. Eric Kay, Google's VP of Engineering, announced that Quick Share will receive AirDrop support and become available on more Android smartphones later this year.
