Quora, a question-and-answer website, has disclosed that they have discovered a breach in on of their systems, putting the data of up to 100 million users at risk. User data of approximately 100 million Quora users may have been compromised like account information which includes the name, email address, encrypted (hashed) password, and data imported from linked networks when authorized by users. Quora is still investigating the breach and is working with a leading digital forensics and security firm. In the meantime, they are notifying users whose data has been compromised, logged out Quora users, and invalidated the passwords of those who have been affected. A new data breach has reportedly exposed the personal information of 17.5 million Instagram users, raising fresh concerns about account security on Meta’s platforms. According to Malwarebytes, it found that the data breach occurred during its regular scan on the dark web, which it associated with a potential exposure of the Instagram API back in 2024. 16 billion passwords have been exposed in platforms like Apple, Google, Facebook, and more in a massive data breach. Lastly, the data from Cybernews’ reports are recent and not recycled from old breaches.
