— CZ 🔶 Binance (@cz_binance) April 22, 2022 As previously reported, Ronin Bridge Ethereum (ETH) sidechain of Sky Mavis’ Axie Infinity has suffered USD 625 million theft—which is considered the biggest crypto heists ever recorded. The United States Department of Treasury revealed last April 14 that “Lazarus Group” was the cybercrime gang responsible for the massive Ronin hack, and the said hacking group has been included in their sanctions list. An update from the Ronin network, the ethereum-linked sidechain created by Sky Mavis for Axie Infinity, cites the United States Department of Treasury and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) attributing the recent USD 625 million theft (in ethereum and USDC) from Axie Infinity users to the hacking group known as the Lazarus Group. The digital currency address linked to Lazarus has been reportedly involved in the Ronin Bridge hack. At the moment, it has also been announced that additional security features are being installed to prevent future attacks prior to redeploying the Ronin Bridge later this month. With Axie Infinity being a big hit, Sky Mavis' Ronin bridge exploited and hacked for 173,600 ETH and 25.5M USDC which is about USD 625 million. The hackers were able to breach the Ronin Network with the use of hacked private keys to create fake withdrawals.
