After reports and rumors of Samsung ditching Google for Microsoft's Bing as its default search engine on its mobile web browser. A new report by The Wall Street Journal suggests that Samsung has suspended an internal review on replacing Google with Bing as their default search engine on the Samsung Internet mobile browser. According to The Wall Street Journal, Samsung has come to the conclusion that switching over to Bing wouldn't cause much of disruption amongst users and that most users tend to either use Chrome or other mobile browsers than Samsung's Internet browser. It's unclear as to why Samsung would switch over to Bing, it could be due to Samsung not wanting to tarnish its relationship with Google or the fact that Google has also been accelerating its AI efforts with Bard across its services. However, the report also states that Samsung "isn't permanently closing the door" on switching over to using Bing as its default search engine. The much awaited Omnia i900 from Samsung (see specs here) was released in the Philippines yesterday. While everybody is getting frustrated with the supposed Globe iPhone 3G pricing, the Samsung Omnia will definitely be a formidable alternative to the former. The rumored new Samsung i8510 that tows in an 8-megapixel camera and a 16GB internal storage becomes official.
