#Samsung Galaxy software support

Samsung recently unveiled the Galaxy A16 5G with up to six years of software support. Now, Samsung has also announced a 4G variant that also receives the same software pledge. Samsung is planning to add support for AirDrop-style file sharing on its Galaxy devices, starting with the Samsung Galaxy S26 series. Samsung confirmed that the rollout will begin with the Galaxy S26 lineup and expand to other Galaxy smartphones through future software updates. The feature is expected to roll out gradually, meaning older Galaxy models may receive support later depending on update availability. Samsung announced that a joint study with Chung-Ang University Gwangmyeong Hospital in Korea found that the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 can predict vasovagal syncope (VVS) or sudden fainting episodes using health data collected by the smartwatch.
