As the pioneer in foldables, Samsung is expected to release a new version of its Fold and Flip devices on an annual basis. This year, it seems that there will be a third device joining the fray. This is what we know about the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Wide.
Yep. As its name suggests, the Galaxy Z Fold Wide is rumored to be a “horizontal” foldable for those who prefer that aspect ratio. This will be the opposite of the more traditional Galaxy Z Fold8 that is slated to continue chasing after a more traditional smartphone footprint. Photos from Android Headlines fully capture the difference:

Unfortunately, while most key elements such as memory, processor, and others will likely be carried over, some compromises have to be made due to its form factor. The primary one is the camera which may see the Telephoto lens omitted in this iteration. It may be closer to a “Flip” camera experience than a “Fold,” albeit the ultrawide and main sensors are still around.

The battery capacity may be slightly impacted as well, with 4,800 mAh rumored compared to the Fold8’s alleged 5,000.
There will also be two 10-megapixel selfie cameras, both on the outside and inside. Other expected specs are top-shelf Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipsets, 12+GB of RAM, 256+GB of storage, and other 2026 flagship fare.

This is an impressive evolution of the lineup for a different demographic, although we’re curious to see how it’ll do commercially.
