Samsung is reportedly developing their own mobile GPU for their Exynos chipsets. The Korean tech conglomerate is known to use Graphical Processing Units (GPU) from ARM for their home-baked Exynos mobile chips but a few weeks ago, they have publicly announced the ongoing development of their own GPU. The company is planning to implement their own GPUs in the "lower-tier mobile devices" first to test out the waters. It is said that the flagship devices will still continue on using ARM GPUs as they await the results. The much awaited Omnia i900 from Samsung (see specs here) was released in the Philippines yesterday. While everybody is getting frustrated with the supposed Globe iPhone 3G pricing, the Samsung Omnia will definitely be a formidable alternative to the former. The rumored new Samsung i8510 that tows in an 8-megapixel camera and a 16GB internal storage becomes official. This new Samsung i8510 phone will be named Innovate or Innov8.
