Samsung has just announced their latest 'premium' smartphone in the form of the Samsung Z, and the company says that it is targeted towards users who want a different experience packed in a light and efficient package since it is running Tizen. The Samsung Z comes with a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display at 720p resolution, a 2.3GHz quad-core CPU. Samsung has lots of plans to improve the Tizen ecosystem through app challenges in Russia, so it will be nice to see how everything turns out. The much awaited Omnia i900 from Samsung (see specs here) was released in the Philippines yesterday. While everybody is getting frustrated with the supposed Globe iPhone 3G pricing, the Samsung Omnia will definitely be a formidable alternative to the former. The rumored new Samsung i8510 that tows in an 8-megapixel camera and a 16GB internal storage becomes official. This new Samsung i8510 phone will be named Innovate or Innov8. I reckon that the Samsung i8510 is positioned against the Nokia N95 while the Omnia is targetted as an iPhone alternative.
