Korean electronics giant Samsung officially unveiled the Z1, a budget-friendly smartphone with their own Tizen operating system running out of the box. Samsung also claims that the Tizen OS is lightweight and won't bog down the system, allowing for a more seamless experience. The much awaited Omnia i900 from Samsung (see specs here) was released in the Philippines yesterday. While everybody is getting frustrated with the supposed Globe iPhone 3G pricing, the Samsung Omnia will definitely be a formidable alternative to the former. The rumored new Samsung i8510 that tows in an 8-megapixel camera and a 16GB internal storage becomes official. This new Samsung i8510 phone will be named Innovate or Innov8. I reckon that the Samsung i8510 is positioned against the Nokia N95 while the Omnia is targetted as an iPhone alternative. LCD monitors from Samsung are getting better and better.
