The latest Philippine internet report from mobile network measuring company Opensignal showed that Based on the new report, Smart Telecommunications dominates LTE speed in the whole country as it posted bigger differences with speeds peaking at 12.4Mbps in the National Capital Region (NCR), while rival Globe has posted a 7.8Mbps result. Opensignal's tests have resulted in the blue brand gaining the upper hand in the National Capital Region with a 72.5% availability as opposed to 67.5% posted by Smart. As you may recall, Opensignal published a report last September with Smart taking the lead in LTE speed at a 10.55Mbps average. The latest Philippine mobile internet report from OpenSignal showed that both Globe and Smart continued to expand their 4G LTE coverage across the country. 4G availability is measured by how often a smartphone is able to connect to the LTE network of a carrier. In terms of LTE speed, Smart is still way ahead at 10.55Mbps (up from 9.87Mbps in March 2017) while Globe slightly dropped to 7.16Mbps from 7.42Mbps last March. In terms of 3G internet speed, Smart and Globe are tied at 2.36Mbps and 2.25Mbps, respectively. Last March, Globe and Smart were also tied in terms of over-all speed (3G and 4G) but this time, Smart took the lead with an average of 4.16Mbps compared to Globe's 3.39Mbps.
