This is the first time the Fit series has used sapphire glass, and that immediately gives it a more premium feel than the usual smartwatch glass found on mainstream wearables. While the bold color draws attention and follows current trends, we generally prefer neutral tones like black or white for smartwatches. That matters more than the spec sheet because a smartwatch can only be useful if it fits naturally into our daily life. More importantly, the screen is rated at up to 3,000 nits peak brightness, so visibility outdoors should be much better than on a typical smartwatch display. Based on our first two days of testing and what we’ve come to expect from HUAWEI smartwatches, it should hold up well in real-world use. That is still a very good result, especially for users accustomed to charging a smartwatch every night. It also makes the Fit 5 Pro a better travel companion than many competing smartwatches, since there’s less need to worry about bringing a charger for short trips. If HUAWEI keeps the price close to the Fit 4 series, this should be an easy recommendation for people who want a stylish smartwatch with good battery life, strong health tracking, and premium hardware without stepping into flagship smartwatch pricing.
