San Miguel Corporation (SMC) has announced that the first batch of MRT-7 trains will arrive next week. SMC has revealed that the new trains for the project are set to arrive next week in the country from South Korea. The trains, which consist of six cars or two trainsets procured from South Korea’s Hyundai ROTEM, have cleared inspections and factory acceptance testing, with the country’s national rail manufacturer, Korea Railroad Corporation, serving as SMC’s adviser. SMC added that more trains would be shipped in the coming months until all 108 coaches were delivered. SMC also reported that the manufacturing of other important equipment needed for the MRT 7, which were all done in various countries, had also been completed.
