Qualcomm has just unveiled the new Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, the successor to the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 launched last year. The Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 is the first in the series to be built on a 4nm process whilst its predecessor was built on a 6nm process. The Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 is also the series-first to support 3GPP Release 16 5G technology with its Snapdragon X61 5G Modem-RF System for faster data speeds together with Qualcomm Wi-Fi 5 for dependable connections. As for smartphones that will soon be coming with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, none have been confirmed thus far but we can expect them to be coming in the next few months. Qualcomm has announced the new Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processors. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 includes AI-powered camera features, Qualcomm Adaptive Performance Engine 4.0 for gaming, up to 21% better GPU performanc, and support for Wi-Fi 7 and ultra-fast 5G connectivity. Meanwhile, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 can deliver up to 77% better GPU performance and supports 90FPS gameplay which is a first for the first time in the Snapdragon 4 series.
