#snapdragon update

There will be a big change in Qualcomm as they are now separating the Qualcomm and Snapdragon brands. Snapdragon will now be a standalone product and will only tie-up with Qualcomm where appropriate. The company has also revealed new representative colors for the brand, including Midnight, Gunmetal, Nickel, Snapdragon Red, and Gold. The company will also introduce a new simplified and consistent naming structure for their platforms for customers to easily identify and discover products powered by Snapdragon. There will be a transition to a single-digit series and generation number for their products, starting with the newest flagship Snapdragon 8-series platform. They will also be taking out the 5G branding from all their products as the company says that any Snapdragon product will have 5G built-in. Qualcomm will no longer announce updates to its Snapdragon G Series gaming chips at the 2026 Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco. Despite earlier hints that it would expand its Arm-based push into Windows gaming handhelds, there will be no updates for the Qualcomm Snapdragon G Series in this year's GDC.
