Qualcomm teased an upcoming Snapdragon X chip made for budget-friendly Windows-powered devices during their Investor Day event. At the moment, news outlets have only referred to this as Snapdragon X. At the moment, Qualcomm offers PCs with the Snapdragon X Elite with a 12-core CPU. There’s also the Snapdragon X Plus, available with either an 8 or 10-core CPU. The most notable thing announced from the event is that Qualcomm will be including their NPU for the base Snapdragon X. We expect the news on the Snapdragon X by next year’s CES event. Qualcomm has released a development smartphone and tablet that touts the latest Snapdragon 810 processor. In addition, its Adreno 430 GPU can output 30% more performance than the Snapdragon 805’s Adreno 420 while supporting 4K display resolution.
