Sony Mobile has added a two handsets in its 2013 portfolio namely the Xperia SP and Xperia L. These two handsets are slated to fill the mid-ranged and entry-level post under the company’s current flagship device, the Xperia Z. The naming of the Xperia SP has something to do with its design, which is inspired by the Xperia S and P. It doesn’t have the see-through accent as the Xperia SP, but it does have strip of LED at its base that takes care of the notification for the user. This Jellybean-powered smartphone has a similar camera setup as the Xperia SP. Sony has confirmed that it will launch the Xperia 1 VIII on May 13 at 11:00 AM JST. Sony is also expected to announce the A7R VI full-frame mirrorless camera and a new 100-400mm f/4.5 GM lens during the launch. Reports suggest the Xperia 1 VIII will feature a redesigned body with a square camera module.
