Sony Mobile has added a two handsets in its 2013 portfolio namely the Xperia SP and Xperia L. These two handsets are slated to fill the mid-ranged and entry-level post under the company’s current flagship device, the Xperia Z.
The naming of the Xperia SP has something to do with its design, which is inspired by the Xperia S and P. This explains why the recently unveiled handset sports the same transparent strip of glass at the bottom that not only added flavor to its profile, but also doubles as a notification light.

It boasts a 4.6-inch HD display coated with a sheet of scratch-resistant glass. There’s a tiny VGA front-mounted camera above it that’s accompanied by an 8MP snapper at the back. Handling the workload behind the curtain is a 1.7GHz dual-core processor backed by a Gigabyte of RAM and an Adreno 320 GPU. The handset will come preinstalled with Android Jelly bean which takes some of the space on the handset’s 8GB internal memory.
All of its components, including the sizeable 2370mAh battery pack, are encased inside a classy aluminum body that comes in three color variants; Black, White and Red.
