TAMRON has announced the release of the 90mm f/2.8 Di III MACRO VXD (Model F072), a macro lens designed for full-frame Sony E-mount and Nikon Z-mount mirrorless cameras. The lens will be available starting October 24, 2024, and is the latest in Tamron's long-standing line of macro lenses, continuing a legacy that began with the introduction of the company's first 90mm macro lens in 1979. Additionally, Tamron has incorporated its BBAR-G2 (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection Generation 2) Coating, which minimizes ghosting and flare, ensuring high-quality images even in challenging backlit conditions. The macro capabilities of the lens are enhanced by Tamron's first-ever 12-blade circular aperture, providing smooth, circular bokeh and the ability to produce starburst effects when the aperture is stopped down. Tamron has also introduced a new lens hood design, featuring a sliding window that allows for easy adjustment of filters without needing to remove the hood—a feature that is particularly useful when working with polarizing or neutral density filters.
