Apple has announced that longtime executive John Ternus will become its next chief executive officer, replacing Tim Cook after more than a decade at the helm. Ternus, currently Apple’s head of hardware engineering, will officially take over as CEO on September 1, while Cook transitions to the role of executive chairman. Cook has led Apple since 2011, following the resignation of co-founder Steve Jobs. While Cook is credited with scaling Apple’s business and driving financial growth, critics have noted a lack of breakthrough products comparable to the iPhone in recent years. CEO Tim Cook has already told employees that Apple must “win in AI,” despite arriving late. In fact, Tim Cook has suggested to just buy an iPhone instead for that highly coveted ‘blue bubbles'. However, Tim Cook has now confirmed that Apple has been using Sony's camera sensors for well over a decade now through a tweet of his experience visiting and touring Sony's facility in Kumamoto together with Sony CEO Kenichiro Yoshida.
