Live streaming video platform Twitch announced in a blog post yesterday that they are introducing new tools for creators who "have a passion for making videos on their own terms." This new set of tools is dubbed "Video Producer", and it allows creators to showcase pre-recorded videos that premiere at a scheduled time. One of the main features of Video Producer is "Premieres", which the company teased at TwitchCon 2017. Twitch has also made it easy for viewers to distinguish what type of video is playing by adding new status indicators for premieres and reruns. Twitch is a subsidiary of Amazon, and the debut of Video Producer can be seen as a direct shot to Google's YouTube, as the latter's main focus is pre-recorded video.
