Following the momentary outage in several social networking sites including Facebook and Instagram, Twitter has announced two new additional features on their service, namely Video Recording on the mobile app, as well as Group Messaging which works for both the desktop and mobile versions of Twitter, and on TweetDeck. First teased by Twitter CEO as “whisper mode” back in May, the new Group Messaging function allows twitter users to invite their followers, regardless if they’re following each other or not, in a more intimate conversation that will be limited to the invited members of a certain group. Group Message History, a new feature on WhatsApp, makes it easier for new group members to view recent chats immediately. With this update, group admins and members can share between 25 and 100 recent messages with new members. Admins have the ability to disable the feature for their group, but they can still access message history whenever they require it. The group will receive notifications about history sharing, and the messages will display distinct labels indicating their connection to the distributed history.
