Uber has launched a new product called Uber Movement which provides anonymized traffic data to city officials, planners, policymakers, as well as general public to help them make informed decisions when it comes to city planning and development. Uber Movement does this by leveraging on anonymous GPS information from hundreds of thousands of online Uber vehicles and then provides an insight on how traffic is moving around the city. One case example is the traffic data Uber published in November 2016 which gives an insight on travel conditions in Manila during the 2015 holiday season. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bszvEIMVsIc Uber Movement is currently collaborating with government experts, transportation professionals, and academic organizations around the globe for research opportunities and soliciting feedback. Starting June 15, you can be one of the first to try uberPOOL — a ride sharing feature that Uber launched in other countries that has been proven to cut down on the number of cars on the road. According to Uber's newsroom, this feature will work by following this instruction: Request: Under uberX, select the uberPOOL option.
