Globe subs get free Twitter via 8888

Globe subscribers can now get free access to Twitter starting today until the end of July. To get the free access, just type “free twitter” and send it to 8888.

I just tried it now on my Globe postpaid account and it did not work. The SMS reply says it’s only available to prepaid Globe and TM subscirbers. Anybody else tried this already?

i’m pretty much sure this works like its previous free FB promo, wherein you have to use twitter via their mobile website. if you use the app, regular data charges will be deducted from your load.

it works but only until July 15, 2012. Does this mean I have to enroll again after July 15? We’ll see.

Why will using the Opera Mini browser cause regular rates? And what if I use a different browser other than the phone’s stock browser, will that cause regular rates as well? Free nga pero hassle naman gamitin. Why not just give free access regardless of the app used when accessing Twitter? Perhaps Globe will track usage in some way…privacy issues, anyone? :D

But whenever I open twitter on my browser, it says that my connection is unavailable.
