Leak: Globe to offer 50Mbps unlimited broadband for Php2,499

Listen to article

In a leaked document that we acquired just now, it looks like Globe Telecom is set to upgrade it Platinum Broadband Plans to higher bandwidth. The documents point to a 50Mbps unlimited connection for only Php2,499 while a 100Mbps line will be priced at Php3,499.

The Platinum Home Broadband is Globe’s fiber internet service that covers selected high-end subdivisions and condominiums (check all the areas covered with this plan here).

These are very fast yet affordable broadband that could rival neighboring countries. Although the serviceable areas are still limited due to limitations of technology and infrastructure, the list should expand in more areas and subdivisions as roll-out of fiber lines are being done.

Our source indicates the new Platinum Plans will become effective on October 24, 2015 (this is also the date stated in the documents we got).

Local Internet Service Providers have recently been the target of criticisms and even Senate investigation regarding the slow state of internet in the Philippines. This move could be Globe’s effort to address the concern and while the new upgraded speeds only covers those areas with fiber connection, we should see more and more subscribers being able to upgrade to these speeds soon.

P.S. Coincidentally, my condo is included in this list so we will try to subscribe to the 100Mbps plan and check the performance.

Actually parang good thing rin na papasok sa PH ang telstra. Para yung mga telcos here sa PH, like globe, iiimprove nila yung service nila para maging loyal parin tayo sa kanila. Thanks Globe! Glad to know that globe company is making efforts to give their customers what they’re asking for. Dito na ko mas subok ko na ang globe.

This is only for the Upper Class people, so sad. Hope the areas expand, no sense of marketing it if a small percentage of the population can avail it.

In your dreams Globe. With your poor reputation for Data Capping and incompetent + slow Technical Support, Fibr rules over your service. Not a chance.

i believe this is already implemented because I got mine (grass residences) last Tuesday (50mbps). it’s 50% off for the first 12 months with a 24 months lock in period

I am not affiliated with Globe and this flyer is from the person who help process my application (I texted him at 6am and I got it connected at around 4pm) so if you’re interested, just contact him http://i.imgur.com/ehkmVyk.png

Hi, just wondering, how’s the performance here in Grass Residences? Is it really reaching the 50mbps speed? Thanks!
