At the start of July, JMGO unveiled their ultra-portable PicoPlay series projectors, the JMGO PicoPlay and PicoPlay+. Both are optical technology marvels designed to be as compact as a coffee cup.

Weighing just 0.73kg and measuring 85mm in diameter, these projectors are built for travel, outdoor use, or home setups. Each features an 88-degree rotating gimbal, allowing projection on almost any surface The built-in FlexiSmart system handles autofocus, auto keystone, screen alignment, and even eye protection automatically.

The PicoPlay and PicoPlay+ both support 1080p Full HD resolution. Brightness is rated at 400 ISO lumens for the base model and 450 ISO lumens for the Plus model. They also offer 90% DCI-P3 color coverage, HDR10 support, and even 3D Blu-Ray playback.
Both models run on Google TV, providing access to streaming platforms like Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime, and YouTube. Of course, this is complete with Google Assistant voice control, and users can also wirelessly cast content via Google Cast.
For I/O, users can plug in devices through USB-A 2.0, HDMI 2.1 (eARC), or USB Type-C. The projectors support screen rotation for vertical content, perfect for watching TikTok, Reels, or Shorts.
They also come with a customizable control button, touch controls, and an RGB ambient light feature for added visual flair. Both also double as 8W Bluetooth 5.1 speakers with 360-degree sound and Dolby Audio.
Storage options differ, with the PicoPlay having 8GB internal storage, while the PicoPlay+ offers 16GB. Notably, both include a microSD card slot for expandability.
Power-wise, the PicoPlay relies on a direct power source. The PicoPlay+ includes a 10,000mAh built-in battery for up to 3 hours of video or 7 hours of music. JMGO also offers an optional 20,000mAh Power Bank Stand compatible with both models.

The JMGO PicoPlay retails for USD 449 in the US. At the time of writing, however, it’s available at 40% off at just USD 299 (~PHP 17K). It comes with a free pair of 3D glasses.
