Noticing your iPhone 5‘s battery to be all juiced out faster than before? It might be one of the units that Apple is willing to fix as part of their battery replacement program.

This program is a result to the company discovering a small percentage of their sold iPhone 5 units to possibly have shorter life span than when people first got them. If you bought your handset between September 2012 (when it was initially launched) and January 2013 you may visit Apple’s support page, punch in your device’s serial number, and see if it is indeed one of the units that the company declared as having a faulty battery.

The first countries to get this service is US and China, with other countries are to follow on August 29, 2014. Once it’s available you may visit Apple retail stores, authorized Apple service providers, or AppleCare to have your iPhone 5’s battery replaced free of charge. If, for some reason, you already had it fixed the company is willing to give back refunds.

This is available only until March 1 of next year. I personally have an iPhone 5 that I think is qualified for this program so I’ll be trying this out. We’ll be sure to update you if anything worth mentioning comes up during the process.

Try going to this Apple Repair Center. They will be able to give a good diagnosis and possibly have batteries available for replacement quickly.

I called Globe and she gave me stores in Manila that handle the replacement. So it means they will not replace it here and ship it overseas? That’s absurd. Di ba Powermac Centers do repairs? Isa sa mga stores that was given to me is Powermac in Trinoma.

Mine is eligible, I inquired at PowerMac they said they’re going to send my iPhone in singapore and wait for fucking 3 to 4 weeks for the battery to be replace… like WTF? Wala ako gagamitin phone for that time being? Wala ba available battery sa Pinas at dito na lang gawin? Tangina diba?

been to istore. my phone is eligible but the girl said this would take 3 weeks as they have to ship the device to somewhere else to test if its really eligible. this is funny. i cancelled it anyway.

hi my iphne 5 is eligible for this program as i entered my phones serial number. i know it’s going to be availble on aug 29 for other countries. i just hope the process won’t take too long and be that difficult and will be acailable also here in davao city. :) i really need my phone bat replaced

That is also may concern, bought my iPhone 5 online (local). I called Beyond the Box in VirraMall and one of the stuff told me to just drop by there. My concern is, are they gonna acknowledge/accept the unit even without the reciept but eligible for the program?.

Yes. As long as it is eligible for the program and the device is registered under your name. You can register it online at supportprofile.apple.com the login with your Apple Id and password and register the Serial Number.

How do i get a replacement battery for my iphone 5s. I bought my unit in december 2013 at SM Masinag bt am nt sure if it was part of the batches affected. Pls advise as I am wondering d battery drains easily. Tank you Yugatech.

If you purchased it last December, then you are still under 1 year warranty. Try having it checked at Power Mac Center or call the local AppleCare hotline.

I have one unit which is qualified. But i had the battery changed long time ago. I use to charge my phone 3 to 4x a day. Plus i have baon na powerbank due to this issue. Will try my luck for a refund.
