Ahead of the formal announcement of Google on the Nexus 7 II, Best Buy already had the devices up for pre-order by several hours. So we immediately took the opportunity and bought one to review.
As of the moment, the WiFi-only models were available and the 32GB variant was selling at $269.99PHP 15,844INR 22,882EUR 257CNY 1,965.
After adding state taxes and recycling fees, the total charge ended up at $297.29PHP 17,447INR 25,195EUR 283CNY 2,164. Since we used our GCash AMEX Virtual Card to pay for the purchase, the converted cost was Php13,225USD 225INR 19,105EUR 215CNY 1,641.
The unit will be shipped to our US address by end of the month and should arrive in the Philippines by first or second week of August (we’re still not sure how much the international shipping will be but we hope it’s just between Php1k to Php2k). Last time we shipped the old Nexus 7 from the US, we paid just a little over Php1k for shipping to the Philippines.
Watch out for our hands-on impressions and full review by then.

Wilson says:
I would like to know how this turns out. Precisely, what I want to know about his how our customs would tax the parcel. Please do update us! Thank you and more power to Yugatech!
Marky says:
magkano yun tax nyan pagdating sa customs?.. gusto ko rin mag order online. nakakadala lang kasi dati 30-40% ng price yun tax..
Sir says:
Sir Yuga, dapat ba may laman na cash yung Globe Amex or pwede din magserve as credit card to? Then ichacharge na lang sa bill, pwede ba yun? Thanks sir.
abuzalzal says:
Sana Php15-16K lang ‘to
Jojo says:
sir how about the chromecast? how much po ang total?
Jp Carlos says:
Hi sir yuga, medyo off topic pero I just like to ask how do you ship from your US address to PH? May contact person ba kayo who ships it for you(friend relative) or may service provider that does that for you? Thanks :)
Bob says:
Is there a way where we could call Customs and ask for the list of fees? I think they should release it to public if they want transparency.
But yeah, hoping to hear from you soon on how much the tax would be.
Wilson says:
I read the article again and found that Yugatech used a US address. If this will be door-to-door then it is possible that it will not go through customs. I believe that there are services (e.g. http://www.my-shoppingbox.com) that allows people to order and pay taxes without the item going through customs.
Wha Antolin RIGOS says:
That is also my concern, the TAX.
Vince51 says:
Sir Yuga, can you create a guide for ordering items overseas withiut going through Customs? Someone above mentioned Johnny Air Cargo ang my-shopping-box…
chris says:
Gaano kaya katagal from the day na binili ang items hanggang umabot sa pinas?
Neosankyo says:
G-Cash Amex VC comes with a free my-shopping-box account. Walang dagdag tax ano pa man kasi door-to-door. Delivery takes 1 to 2 weeks.
Justin says:
I can recall the countless horror stories (i.e. non-responsive screens, screen lifts, no audio, etc.) that came out from the buyers of the first batch of Nexus 7 units when it came out last year. This is the only thing holding me back from buying the N7II now. I’m still getting it, but most likely next year, when the more stable units come out.
Yuga, (knock on wood) pag-palpak yung N7II nyo, please tell us about it as well.
gerbil says:
Here’s hoping Best Buy won’t cancel your order since you’re sending it to a known warehouse address. Will wait for your review.
Irene Enriquez says:
Yes, please update us with the shipping process and if there are extra charges! :) Last time we bought a game from Hong Kong we got charged P1700 on top of the shipping fee we already paid. :(
Rouge says:
Shutup and take my Money Google!. I want one of this!
David says:
I use my-shoppingbox, too, but their rules say they prohibit lithium batteries. But you’re not having any problems shipping items with lithium batteries through them?
Ivan says:
When it becomes officially released in HK and SIngapore, this device will finally hit our shores. Gray market lang nga. Kelan pa kaya yun?!
TouchandShop says:

Most of the time it’s cheaper to buy internationally than here, especially in gadgets and clothing. That’s why I keep using GCASH AMEX on transactions like this.
