0:00The first quarter of 2026 is officially
0:02done. And if you notice, there were a
0:04lot of phones launched this Q1 alone.
0:07Before the next batch of phones arrives
0:09this April, as well as the coming
0:10months, let’s first rewind the clock and
0:13check out our top picks priced under
0:1620,000 pesos. This gives you guys, our
0:18lovely viewers, options to choose
0:20smartphones that perfectly fit your
0:22budget, assuming you need one right now.
0:25For reference, these smartphones are
0:27listed in no particular order except in
0:30price in ascending order. So, without
0:32further ado, let’s dive right in.
0:40First up is the Honor X8D, which is the
0:43most affordable smartphone on this list.
0:45It’s not as durable as its X9D sibling,
0:48but that’s to be expected given the more
0:50affordable price point. The X8D only has
0:53an IP65 rating for dust and water
0:55resistance, but it has a dedicated AI
0:57button which can quickly launch AI
0:59functions and it is completely [music]
1:01customizable. Yes, it comes with Honor’s
1:04AI functionality despite its affordable
1:06price point. For performance, the X8D
1:08packs a Snapdragon 6S 4G Gen 2 chipset,
1:12which is more than capable for running
1:13day-to-day tasks and even light gaming.
1:15It was able to score over 500,000 points
1:18on AnTuTu, which is decent for a phone
1:19in its category. Light games like Mobile
1:22Legends aren’t a problem, but more
1:23graphic-intensive titles prove to be
1:25challenging if users go beyond the low
1:27graphic settings. Still, these users can
1:30play games to pass the time. There’s
1:31also a large 6.77-in AMOLED display with
1:34a full HD+ resolution and a 120-Hz
1:37refresh rate to watch movies and series,
1:39as well as play games on. Interestingly,
1:41the cameras are similar to the X9D
1:43featuring a 108-megapixel main,
1:455-megapixel ultrawide, and a
1:4716-megapixel [music] front camera. As
1:49for the battery, the Honor X8D packs a
1:51large 7,000-mA hour unit which lasts a
1:54rather long time. We were able to garner
1:56a result of 17 hours and 28 minutes
1:58using PCMark’s [music]
1:59battery test, which is a great result.
2:01For charging, it only has 45-W wired
2:04charging. Now, do note that the Honor
2:05X8D is the only phone on this list with
2:08no 5G capability, [music] limited to
2:10just 4G LTE. But at its price point of
2:1315,999
2:15pesos for the 8 + 256-GB [music]
2:18variant, some might be able to look over
2:20it. Next up, we have the first Poco on
2:22this list, the M8 Pro 5G. It’s a lot
2:25more affordable than the X8 Pro with a
2:27starting price of just 16,999
2:30pesos for the 8 + 256-GB variant.
2:33However, the same can’t be said for the
2:35M8 Pro’s 5G’s 12 + 512-GB variant, which
2:39retails for 19,999
2:41pesos. The M8 Pro isn’t as powerful
2:44given its price point, but it’s still
2:46quite capable. It packs a Snapdragon 7S
2:48Gen 4 chipset under the hood, which was
2:50able to score over 800,000 points on
2:53AnTuTu. Playing lighter titles was not a
2:55problem either and it could even handle
2:56running Genshin Impact on medium graphic
2:58settings steadily. There’s also a large
3:006.83-in 1.5K curved AMOLED panel with a
3:04120-Hz refresh rate for users to enjoy
3:06>> [music]
3:06>> playing games and watching videos. The
3:08M8 Pro also supports HDR10+ and even has
3:12Dolby Vision. For cameras, users have a
3:1450-megapixel main shooter paired with an
3:168-megapixel ultrawide [music] at the
3:18rear. While the front uses a
3:2032-megapixel sensor for selfies. The
3:22review unit we have looks great too with
3:24this black-silver color scheme and it’s
3:26decently [music] protected with an IP68
3:28rating for dust and water resistance.
3:31Powering the Poco M8 Pro is a 6,500-mA
3:34hour battery with a 100-W fast charging
3:36speeds. Despite the average battery
3:38size, it lasted 17 hours and 6 minutes
3:41with PCMark’s battery test. The only
3:44gaming phone on this list is the Nubia
3:46Neo 5G GT. It’s a proper gaming phone
3:49too featuring shoulder triggers to help
3:51make gaming life a lot easier. Not to
3:54mention, it has the aesthetics down to
3:56match as well with LED lighting, which
3:58is customizable by the way, and even
4:00cooling vents for a fan to help with
4:03long gaming sessions to dissipate heat.
4:05Nubia didn’t even include a camera bump,
4:07which makes it fully flat when users
4:10place it on a table, which is a godsend
4:13for gamers. Since this is a gaming
4:15phone, it also has a high refresh rate
4:17display. The Neo 5G GT features a large
4:206.8-in screen with a 1.5K AMOLED panel
4:23and 144-Hz refresh rate. This makes it
4:26the only smartphone on this list with a
4:28144-Hz refresh rate, a feature typically
4:31found on higher-end smartphones and,
4:34more importantly, gaming phones. The
4:36chipset is [music] decent too. It packs
4:38a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 processor,
4:41which was able to score over 1 million
4:43points on AnTuTu. [music] With lighter
4:45titles like Mobile Legends, it was able
4:46to run the game on the ultra settings,
4:48no problem. On more graphic-intensive
4:50titles like Genshin, it can run steadily
4:52up to 60 FPS on lows to medium settings.
4:56It could handle the game on medium
4:57settings fully while enabling the
4:59cooling fans, which helps maintain frame
5:01rates for extended gaming runs. Since
5:04the Nubia Neo 5G GT is a gaming phone,
5:06the cameras aren’t exactly the main
5:08highlight. It only comes with a
5:0950-megapixel main rear shooter, a
5:11secondary unspecified lens, and an
5:148-megapixel front camera. Powering the
5:17Neo 5G GT is a 6,210-mA
5:19hour battery pack, which honestly
5:21doesn’t last that long. It only lasted
5:2311 hours and 57 minutes on PCMark with
5:25the fan and RGB turned off. If you turn
5:28it on, the same test garnered a result
5:30of 9 hours and 24 [music] minutes.
5:33Fortunately, there is an 80-W fast
5:34charger available as well as bypass
5:37charging. The Nubia Neo 5G GT retails
5:39for 17,999
5:41pesos for the 8 + 256-GB variant, while
5:44the 12 + 256-GB variant [music] retails
5:46for 19,999
5:48pesos. The Honor X9D is one of the most
5:51durable smartphones we’ve reviewed so
5:53far with an IP66,
5:55>> [music]
5:55>> 68, 69, and 69K levels of protection, as
5:59well as being drop-resistant for up to
6:012.5 m. In our review, we even tested out
6:04how tough it is, which you can check out
6:06on the channel, by the way, if you
6:07haven’t, and it survived pretty much
6:09everything we threw at it. With that,
6:11the Honor X9D might just be the toughest
6:13phone on this list. With regards to the
6:15performance, the X9D packs a Snapdragon
6:186S Gen 4 chipset. It’s a decently
6:21performing chip which scored over
6:22740,000 points on AnTuTu. With that, it
6:26could easily handle day-to-day tasks and
6:28even run light games on the highest
6:30settings. However, it does struggle a
6:32bit more with graphic-intensive titles,
6:34but that’s to be expected again for a
6:36phone of this category and, given how
6:39Honor focused on how durable it is. The
6:41display also makes it fun to play on
6:43this phone with a large 6.79-in screen
6:47featuring a full HD+ AMOLED panel and a
6:49120-Hz refresh rate. For the cameras,
6:51it’s the same as the Honor X8D
6:53>> [music]
6:53>> featuring a 108-megapixel main shooter
6:55and a 5-megapixel ultrawide at the rear,
6:57together with a 16-megapixel front
6:59shooter for selfies. It’s powered by a
7:01large 8,300-mA hour battery pack, which
7:04lasts a very long time managing 17 hours
7:07and 23 minutes [music] on PCMark’s
7:09battery test. Charging speed is rated at
7:1166 W. With everything it has to offer,
7:14the Honor X9D retails for 18,999
7:18pesos for the lone 12 + 256-GB
7:21variant. Next up on this list is the
7:23Poco X8 Pro and it’s possibly the
7:27smartphone with the most powerful
7:28chipset on this list. The X8 Pro packs a
7:31MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra, a chipset
7:34often found on more expensive mid-range
7:37smartphones. [music] The X8 Pro managed
7:39to score over 2 million points on AnTuTu
7:41and it managed to max out the other
7:43benchmarks we ran as well. With that,
7:45playing games on this phone is very
7:47enjoyable. Whether you’re running light
7:49titles like Mobiles or graphic-intensive
7:51titles like Genshin and Wuwa, this phone
7:53can handle it all at max graphic
7:55settings. The screen is on the smaller
7:57side though, measuring just 6.59 inches.
7:59However, it does use a 1.5K AMOLED panel
8:02with a 120-Hz refresh rate, meaning
8:03gamers can fully utilize the performance
8:06this phone offers when gaming. In
8:08addition, it also supports HDR10+ and
8:10Dolby Vision for enhanced viewing
8:12pleasures. It features decent cameras
8:14too, highlighted by a 50-megapixel main
8:16shooter with OIS and an 8-megapixel
8:19ultrawide at the rear. For the front,
8:21there’s a 20-megapixel shooter for
8:23selfies. Powering the Poco X8 Pro is a
8:256,500-mA
8:26hour battery with a quick 100-W fast
8:29charging speed. With PCMark’s battery
8:31test, we were able to garner a result of
8:3316 hours and 47 minutes.
8:35>> [music]
8:35>> Pricing for the Poco X8 Pro starts at
8:3718,999 pesos for the 8 + 256-GB variant,
8:42while the 8 + 512-GB variant retails for
8:4619,999
8:47pesos, making it one of the more
8:49expensive phones on this list. There is
8:52also a 12 + 512-GB variant, but that’s
8:55above this video’s price point already
8:58at 21,999
9:00pesos for your reference. Also note that
9:02our review unit is the Iron Man edition,
9:04but in terms of specs, it’s very much
9:06the same as the standard X8 Pro. Moving
9:08on to our last phone and the most
9:10expensive phone on this list, the Redmi
9:12Note 15 5G. The 12 + 256-GB variant
9:16already retails for 19,999
9:19pesos and this is the only one to make
9:21the cut. The higher spec 12 + 512-GB
9:24model retails for 21,999
9:26pesos, just to give you an [music] idea.
9:28It’s a well-balanced phone for the price
9:30though, featuring a MediaTek Dimensity
9:317400 Ultra chipset which scored almost
9:34700,000 on AnTuTu. It’s a bit low
9:37considering our review unit only had 8
9:39GB of RAM, which is not actually offered
9:42locally. Despite that, lighter titles
9:43like Mobile Legends ran on max graphics
9:45without issues. Meanwhile, more
9:47graphic-intensive titles are limited to
9:48a mix of low and medium settings.
9:50Nonetheless, it was enjoyable to play
9:52given the large 6.83-in 1.5K AMOLED
9:55display with a 120-Hz refresh rate.
9:57Cameras are decent, too, featuring a
9:59200-megapixel main and an 8-megapixel
10:02ultra-wide together with a 20-megapixel
10:04front camera. It’s a durable phone, too,
10:06with no problems submerging it
10:07underwater given its IP68 and [music] 69
10:10rating for dust and water resistance. It
10:12also packs a decent-size 6,580 mAh
10:16battery that’s last a relatively long
10:19time. For reference, we were able to get
10:2017 hours and 18 minutes using [music]
10:22PCMark’s battery test, which is a good
10:24score considering the size of the
10:26battery. So, that wraps our list of top
10:28smartphone picks under 20,000 pesos
10:30launched this Q1 of 2026. Which one of
10:33these is your favorite and would you
