0:00Honor’s mid-range smartphones are some
0:02of the most popular on the market and
0:04there’s good reason for that. These
0:06phones typically offer great performance
0:08and features, sometimes even matching
0:10those of flagship phones, but at
0:13mid-range pricing. It’s a similar story
0:15with the new Honor 600 series.
0:18Specifically for this video, we’ll be
0:20looking at the top spec Honor 600 Pro.
0:23Now, the design of the Honor 600 Pro
0:25might remind everyone of something a
0:27[music] bit different, but it packs a
0:29lot of features both inside and out. And
0:31considering how competitive the
0:32mid-range smartphone segment has become,
0:35is the Honor 600 Pro still the go-to
0:37choice for mid-range smartphones? Let’s
0:40find out in this review.
0:43>> [music]
0:48>> I’m sure everyone will have their own
0:50opinion regarding the design of the
0:52Honor 600 Pro. Our review unit is in the
0:55orange colorway, which isn’t exactly
0:57subtle by any means. It definitely
0:59reminds us of the redesigned iPhone 17
1:02Pro and Pro Plus models. Then again,
1:05Honor isn’t the only one to adopt this
1:07design language. I mean, if you’ve
1:08checked out the internet, there is a
1:10Spider-Man meme floating around social
1:12media featuring all the phones with an
1:14iPhone-inspired design. So, and this
1:16isn’t the only one. So, yeah. However,
1:18the main difference with the Honor 600
1:20Pro and the others is that this phone
1:21feels very premium. It features an
1:24aluminum frame together with what Honor
1:26calls a translucent composite fiber back
1:29panel, both of which feel nice to the
1:31touch. Thanks to this material, the back
1:33panel is mostly smudge-resistant, too.
1:36The only exception is the long camera
1:38island, which uses a gloss material
1:39instead, which can get a lot of
1:42fingerprints. Thankfully, the entire
1:43phone is quite sturdy, too, featuring
1:45IP68, IP69, and 69K ratings for dust and
1:49water resistance. It also has SGS 5-star
1:51premium performance certification of
1:53drop and crush resistance. With that, it
1:56can withstand [music]
1:57a tough beating and users don’t have to
1:58worry about this phone getting wet,
2:00either. Despite all the armoring, the
2:01Honor 600 Pro is still a relatively
2:03lightweight and slim phone, measuring
2:05only 7.8 mm thin and weighing 200 g. The
2:08buttons are positioned ergonomically
2:11with the power and volume rocker, along
2:13with the Honor’s AI button, you all
2:15easily within reach on the [music] right
2:17side of the phone. The left side of the
2:18phone remains clean, while at the bottom
2:20you’ll find the USB-C port, one of two
2:22loud speakers, and the dual [music] SIM
2:24card slot. At the top, there are a few
2:26more holes for the speaker and the
2:27secondary microphone. The Honor 600 Pro
2:30features a beautiful 6.57-in AMOLED
2:33display with a 120-Hz refresh rate and
2:34up to 8,000 nits peak [music]
2:36brightness, making it perfectly usable
2:38outdoors and in almost any environment.
2:41Some might find the screen a bit small,
2:42especially for those who are used to
2:44larger devices, but we find it to be
2:46adequate. The bezels are very thin all
2:48around, further enhancing the premium
2:50look and feel [music]
2:51of the Honor 600 Pro. With that, users
2:54will definitely enjoy watching their
2:55favorite shows and movies on this phone.
2:57The default vivid color profile is
2:59already great out of the box, featuring
3:01colors that pop along with deep blacks.
3:04It also supports HDR, giving users a
3:06more enhanced viewing experience. The
3:08120-Hz refresh rate also gives the phone
3:10smooth animations when scrolling in apps
3:12and [music] fiddling with the UI. It’s
3:14also great for gaming, but more on that
3:16later. And yes, this phone can game. As
3:18for the speakers, [music] they’re
3:19average at best. Depending on the song
3:22playing, it can sound a bit flat.
3:24There’s also a lack of bass and a lot of
3:26separation between the mids and the
3:27highs. As a result, some of the songs
3:30might sound a bit muddy and not clear.
3:32Fortunately, the speakers are relatively
3:34loud with the option to bump the volume
3:36up to 200%. However, 200% with the
3:39quality ends up dropping even further.
3:41[music] With that, users will be better
3:42off pairing their favorite headphones to
3:44have best sound quality. As for
3:46biometrics, users can choose between an
3:48under-display fingerprint sensor or face
3:50unlock. Both work fast with no problems
3:52for recognition. The cameras of the
3:54Honor 600 Pro are some of the most
3:56capable we’ve tried in the mid-range
3:57segment. It features a triple rear setup
4:00highlighted by 200 megapixel main along
4:02with a 50 megapixel periscope telephoto
4:05and a 12 megapixel ultra-wide. For
4:07selfies, there’s a 50 megapixel front
4:09camera. During the day or in well-lit
4:10environments, the cameras capture images
4:12in amazing [music] detail. The
4:13saturation is dialed in just right and
4:15there’s a nice contrast to give the
4:17photos a moody feel out of the box.
4:19There’s also good balance of highlights
4:20and shadows, too. Honestly, it’s hard
4:22not to like the photos the Honor 600
4:23[music] Pro captures. Thanks to the
4:25periscope telephoto lens, users will
4:27have no problem zooming in, either. Even
4:29up to 7.5 times zoom, the images come
4:32out amazing. [music] However, there are
4:33still limitations to the phone’s
4:35telephoto, after all. Anything beyond
4:3710x zoom and there’s a very noticeable
4:39drop in quality, but the AI Pros
4:41processing still does a decent job
4:42[music] of enhancing the image given the
4:45amount of resource. The ultra-wide is
4:46surprisingly decent, too. However, the
4:48same can’t be said in less than ideal
4:50lighting conditions, at least for the
4:52ultra-wide. In low light, the difference
4:53in quality is very [music] obvious. The
4:55images become less sharp, but at least
4:57the colors are still decent. And the
4:59grain isn’t that bad, at least, again,
5:02for the ultra-wide. As for the video,
5:03the Honor 600 Pro records at the maximum
5:054K 60fps using the main and telephoto
5:07sensors, while the ultra-wide and front
5:09cameras max out at 4K at 30fps. [music]
5:12Interestingly, there’s no option to
5:13toggle stabilization, but it seems to be
5:15turned on all the time. With that, the
5:17videos came out very stable. Even when I
5:19was shooting handheld, the camera shake
5:21was very manageable. As for the quality,
5:23and just as we expected, it’s very
5:25similar to what we saw in the images. In
5:27well-lit environments, the main camera
5:29and telephoto quality are superb.
5:30However, users will notice a slight drop
5:32in quality when digitally zooming from
5:341x up to 3.4 times [music] zoom. Quality
5:37improves once again when users get to
5:38the 3.5x zoom because that’s when it
5:41shifts to the actual telephoto sensor.
5:43As for the ultra-wide, well, it seems to
5:44be doing its own thing, but it’s pretty
5:46decent, [music] at least in wallet
5:47environments. At night, it’s a similar
5:49story with the video, but the ultra-wide
5:51becomes close to somewhat unusable at
5:53this point, sadly. Moving on to the
5:55performance, the Honor 600 Pro [music]
5:57packs a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Yes,
5:59not Gen 3 or Gen 4, just the regular 8
6:02Elite. [music] It’s a bit of an older
6:04chipset, but it still offers
6:05flagship-level performance. Our review
6:07unit also comes with 12 GB of RAM and
6:09512 GB of storage. No microSD slot here,
6:13but in our opinion, 512 GB is more than
6:15enough. Considering the chipset it has
6:17under the hood, the Honor 600 Pro is
6:18more than capable of running all the
6:20applications we [music] threw at it.
6:21There’s no need to worry about leaving
6:23applications running in the background,
6:25either. We could [music] quickly switch
6:26apps and easily pick up where we left
6:28off. Multitasking from browsing the web
6:31to playing games is fast and seamless.
6:33Similarly, playing games on this phone
6:34is very enjoyable. Lighter and even more
6:37graphic-intensive titles like Genshin
6:38Impact could run on the highest settings
6:40without issues. We even tried playing
6:42the new graphics-heavy game, Neverness
6:44to Everness,
6:45>> [music]
6:45>> and it ran smoothly with most graphic
6:47settings set to high. While it could
6:50handle the game with some settings
6:51[music] on ultra, we were already
6:53getting FPS drops. While we were playing
6:55NTE, the phone did heat up. It’s not
6:57concerningly hot, but the phone became
6:59very warm to the touch. But, the
7:01important thing is it didn’t really
7:02affect [music] gameplay after long
7:04periods of time. As for the benchmark,
7:06it scored well, as you can see the
7:08scores on screen right now, and they’re
7:09pretty decent for something with a
7:11Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.
7:30For the OS, the Honor 600 Pro ships with
7:32Android 16 [music] skinned with Magic OS
7:3410. Despite it being a mid-range phone,
7:37the phone comes with nearly all the
7:38features we’ve seen from the flagship
7:40model. Like its exterior design, it
7:42seems to be heavily inspired by the
7:43latest version of iOS, even featuring
7:46the [music] frosted glass look. What we
7:47like though is the Honor’s heavy use of
7:49AI features. Of course, Google’s Gemini
7:51is still here, which can easily be
7:53activated by holding the power button.
7:55Furthermore, users can also activate
7:56Honor AI by hitting the AI button,
7:59assuming it is set up to open that app.
8:01The AI button is indeed customizable,
8:03allowing the users to choose which app
8:05they [music] want to open. Other AI
8:06features include AI subtitle, AI
8:08translate, and even AI writing. But, the
8:11feature we’ve been playing with the most
8:13is the AI editing of photos and videos
8:15in the gallery together with the image
8:17to video 2.0 feature. If you’ve seen our
8:19social media feed lately, you can tell
8:21we’ve been playing with these a lot.
8:23Both features need an internet
8:25connection to use though, but it’s
8:26pretty interesting to see what we could
8:28do with it. Although other times it can
8:30also look like AI slop, so
8:32yeah, just pick your poison. Some might
8:34feel overwhelmed by the amount of AI
8:36features [music] this phone has, but
8:38just play around with them and you’ll
8:39eventually get used to it. Powering the
8:41Honor 600 Pro is a large 7,000 mA
8:43battery pack. Considering the features
8:45and chipset the phone uses, I had my
8:47reservations at first. Surprisingly
8:49though, the battery isn’t just a
8:51brochure figure. It actually lasts a
8:53long time. Even when I used the phone
8:54for an entire day to capture sample
8:56photos, videos, play games, and even
8:58watch YouTube to pass the time, we still
8:59had in more than enough battery to last
9:01another day of doing almost the same
9:03thing. The benchmarks show the similar
9:05story too. Using PCMark’s battery
9:07benchmark, the phone was able to record
9:0917 hours and 32 minutes, which is an
9:11amazing score all things considered. We
9:13also ran our video loop test and it
9:14scored, well, for reference, both tests
9:16were ran on airplane mode, volume muted,
9:18and 50% brightness. [music] For
9:20charging, users can choose between 80 W
9:22wired fast charging and 50 W wireless
9:24charging, assuming you have a fast
9:26enough wireless charger to maximize the
9:2850 W wireless charging speed. There’s
9:30also a 27 W reverse wired charging,
9:33allowing users to help their friends by
9:35turning the Honor 600 Pro into a power
9:38bank. As for connectivity, the Honor 600
9:40Pro features Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0,
9:42GPS, NFC, and even infrared for using it
9:45as a universal remote. With everything
9:47we’ve experienced with the Honor 600
9:48Pro, it’s got almost everything we
9:50wanted. From near flagship performance
9:52to a beautiful display and even a rugged
9:54build, this phone nearly has it all. Not
9:56to mention almost all the AI features it
9:58has could potentially help make our
10:01lives easier. It can even play heavier
10:03titles too, like NT. [music] Cameras?
10:05Well, they capture amazing photos and
10:07videos. Just not the ultra-wide though.
10:08No doubt though, it’s still a great
10:10all-around phone to use. The only
10:12concern I think people would have is the
10:14design. But then again, style is
10:15subjective at the end of the day.
10:16Whether you like this
10:18inspired design is up to you. The only
10:21question now is the price. At the time
10:23we recorded this video, Honor has yet to
10:25release the price of the 600 Pro just
10:27yet. But given all the specs this phone
10:29offers, we’re hoping the price isn’t
10:31that high. Of course, we’ll pin the
10:33price down in the comment section once
10:35we have it along with the description,
10:36so be sure to check it out once this
10:38video drops. So far though, what do you
10:40guys think of the Honor 600 Pro? Is this
10:42the mid-range smartphone to pick this
10:442026 or would you choose a different
10:46phone entirely? Whatever the case, share
10:48your thoughts in the comments [music]
