Samsung and Oculus intros consumer-ready Gear VR for $99

Samsung and Oculus has introduced the first consumer version of the its Gear VR wearable for just $99.

The Gear VR uses your existing smartphone to turn itself into a virtual reality device. It is compatible with Galaxy Note 5, S6 edge+, S6, and S6 edge via microUSB connection. The consumer version is 22% lighter, more comfortable, and has better controls compared to last year’s Gear VR Innovator Edition.

The Samsung Gear VR is priced at $99 (~Php4,700) and comes in Frost White. It will be available in select markets beginning September.
