Yahoo! Buzz to close down on April 21

Another ones bites the dust — this time it’s Yahoo! Buzz. It’s the 2nd blog-related service that Yahoo! axed this year. The Yahoo! Buzz blog has this short message post a couple of weeks ago.

Yahoo! Buzz will be discontinued as of April 21, 2011. As of this date, you will be unable to access the Yahoo! Buzz site. This was a hard decision. However this will help us focus on our core strengths and new innovations.
We appreciate your patronage.

The Yahoo! Buzz Team

Launched by Yahoo! back in August 2008, Buzz was supposed to copy what Digg was really good at — social news and bookmarking. But now that Digg is also slowly dying, Yahoo! Buzz took an early hint.

Last February, Yahoo! also shut down MyBlogLog.

If it is for good, we must respect the decisions. It will be worst for them maybe to continue. http://youshudno.blogspot.com/

All things, good or bad, must come to an end. Don’t worry Facebook will die too. Sooner or later.

Because there’s no active communities involve in Buzz. Compare it to reddit in which the discussions will make your nose bleed

Facebook slashed yahoo silently. Its rare for us friends to chat in yahoo messenger anymore. group chats and announcement are made via facebook.

Yahoo will be shutting most of its services soon. They aren’t improving anymore.. Their yahoomail and yahoo messaging are too slow and buggy.. They are only popular here in the Philippines nowadays. If people will be given a chance to experience skype’s messaging services, and gmail’s email, i guess they won’t go back to yahoo services anymore.. Yahoo must catch up with their technology for them to stay on the competition.

First MyBlogLog and now YahooBuzz. They’re probably focusing on yahoomail-fb-twitter integration.
