英国《卫报》报道了此事：
上个月，美国法院裁定，边境官员在入境时可搜查您的笔记本电脑或其他任何电子设备。他们可以扣押您的电脑并下载其全部内容，或将其扣留数日。海关与边境保护局尚未就这一做法发布任何规则，我与他人已联名致信国会，敦促其对此进行调查并加以监管。
但美国并非孤例。英国海关官员也会搜查笔记本电脑中的色情内容。
各种理由可能促使进行这项全面的安全检查——未授权软件、盗版音乐、色情视频、恐怖主义计划？谁知道他们还在搜寻什么其他内容。
我之前前往其他国家的经历都未曾如此。在樟宜机场航站楼，工作人员会要求乘客将笔记本电脑从包中取出，并单独通过扫描仪检查。最糟糕的经历发生在巴基斯坦的卡拉奇机场，那里的机场警察把我的行李翻得底朝天，衣物和洗好的衣服散落一地。

I’ve never had anyone ask to search through the actual content/files of my computer. I think the only way they would do this is if they found something else incriminating. Searching computer files would be incredibly time consuming.
