0:02 more accessible and more importantly
0:04 they're a lot easier to use. Gone are
0:06 the days when you needed a big drone to
0:08 be able to capture some high quality
0:10 videos and even the smaller drones are
0:12 now very capable. Just look at the DJI
0:14 Neo and Flip we checked out last year
0:17 and earlier this year. So this brings us
0:19 to the topic of today's video, the DJI
0:22 Mini5 Pro. It's not as small as the Neo,
0:25 but it's still a very compact drone,
0:28 especially when you compare it to the
0:30 Mavic 4 Pro we reviewed earlier this
0:32 year. Still, if you're considering
0:34 picking up a drone, whether as a hobby
0:36 or for something a bit more serious, is
0:38 the DJI Mini 5 Pro the one to consider?
0:41 Well, let's find out in this review.
0:43 [music]
0:49 >> [music]
0:49 >> The DJI Mini 5 Pro isn't that big of a
0:52 drone, especially when you compare it to
0:53 the Mavic 4 [music] Pro and more so the
0:56 Phantom models of before. However, it's
0:58 not exactly that mini considering
1:00 there's the Neo and the Flip.
1:01 Nonetheless, it's still quite compact
1:03 and lives up to the name. I could easily
1:05 fit this in my backpack without any
1:08 issues. But since our unit came with a
1:10 carrying [music] bag for all the
1:11 batteries, controllers, and accessories,
1:13 I decided to put everything in there to
1:15 keep it more organized. For reference,
1:17 this is the Fly More Combo Pack, which
1:19 includes [music] the bag. But if you
1:21 don't get it, well, you can still put it
1:22 in your backpack, too. But going back to
1:24 the drone, it's quite lightweight, too,
1:26 weighing only 249.9
1:28 g. The body and the shape of the Mini 5
1:30 Pro are similar to the Mini 4 Pro. From
1:33 its foldable body design to the polymer
1:35 [music] construction, well, lightweight
1:37 polymer construction, I may add, it
1:39 feels very familiar. Even the location
1:41 of the modules and the fish eyes and the
1:44 rest of the sensors are similar to where
1:45 they were on the Mini 4 Pro.
1:47 Unfortunately though, so when it starts
1:49 to rain, DJI does recommend users return
1:51 and land the drone immediately. From our
1:53 experience, it can withstand the light
1:55 rain, but still, I wouldn't recommend it
1:57 because the last thing you want to do is
1:58 like break a 40,000 peso drone. So,
2:01 while it might feel very familiar with
2:03 the [music] Mini4 Pro, the new changes
2:05 are the propellers. Instead of a screw
2:08 on propeller system, it now uses a quick
2:10 release style system, which makes it
2:13 easier to replace the propellers should
2:15 you [music] unfortunately crash into
2:17 objects a lot. So, in the case that you
2:19 accidentally do crash this drone into
2:21 something, [music] at least it's a lot
2:22 easier to replace the propellers. And
2:25 the FlyMore combo pack also comes with
2:27 extra propellers because [music]
2:29 they just know you're going to be
2:30 hitting something, especially if you're
2:32 a beginner drone flyer. Other cool
2:34 features the Mini 5 Pro has is an auto
2:36 power on function that powers up the
2:39 drone the moment you unfold the arm.
2:41 Now, if you've ever flown the DJI Mini
2:43 before, you will definitely feel right
2:46 at home with the Mini 5 Pro, especially
2:48 with how it looks and feels. With the
2:50 drone's compact and lightweight size,
2:52 you can easily bring it around wherever
2:54 [music] you go. So, on the outside, it
2:56 might look the same. Instead, the main
2:58 upgrade DJI made to the Mini 5 Pro is
3:00 the camera. It now uses a full 1 in
3:03 SIMOS sensor, which can capture 50
3:05 megapixel stills. For video, it can
3:07 capture up to 4K at 120 fps or even
3:09 [music]
3:10 super slow motion at 240fps.
3:13 Together with the new camera, the gimbal
3:15 also got an upgrade. It's still a
3:18 three-axis gimbal with support for
3:19 vertical shooting just like before, but
3:21 now it features roll rotation, allowing
3:24 users to be a bit more creative with the
3:26 shots they want to take. [music] And as
3:28 expected with the new sensor, the camera
3:30 on the Mini 5 Pro captures amazing
3:32 photos both in [music] daylight and even
3:34 in low light. As part of the FlyMore
3:36 combo pack, you also get some ND
3:39 filters, [music] which you can quickly
3:41 swap out depending on your needs. But to
3:43 test it out, these videos were recorded
3:45 in 4K at 30fps without the ND [music]
3:48 filters installed. And as you can see
3:50 from the video, I was able to capture a
3:52 great view of the Banawi area at night.
3:54 There's a good balance between the
3:55 highlights and shadows, and there's
3:57 little to no grain even when there's
3:59 barely [music] any light source. Now,
4:01 even out in the distance, you can make
4:03 out the other high-rise buildings around
4:05 Metro Manila. It's quite impressive to
4:07 see the Manila skyline at night from
4:09 [music] this point of view. But of
4:11 course, do be careful when you're flying
4:13 the drone because you have to remember
4:16 you need to know where you're flying. As
4:17 you would expect from a 1 in sensor,
4:19 it's amazing [music]
4:20 during the day. The colors are quite
4:22 vivid and almost everything is sharp.
4:24 It's more than adequate for your social
4:26 media [music] posting. In fact, for some
4:28 beginner drone users, the quality might
4:30 be a bit overkill, but hey, at least if
4:33 you do decide to keep flying this drone,
4:35 it will be a worthwhile investment. With
4:37 the new sensor, the Mini5 Pro now
4:39 features a two times [music] zoom
4:40 function as well. It's only a digital
4:43 zoom, but if you're using it for social
4:44 media to take stills, it won't really be
4:47 a problem. It's more than adequate, and
4:49 even in low light, you can still get
4:51 decent [music] video footage and photos.
4:53 But specifically for the photos, when
4:55 you pixel peep, you will notice some
4:57 artifacting, [music]
4:58 but if you're just posting it on social
5:00 media, no one's really going to know.
5:01 Now, just check out this montage all
5:03 shot using the DJI Mini 5 Pro to let the
5:06 quality of the video and images speak
5:09 for itself.
5:20 [music]
5:34 >> [music]
5:49 [music]
6:01 >> Hey,
6:04 [music]
6:04 hey,
6:10 hey.
6:12 [music]
6:22 Now, if anything, what you do need is a
6:24 large capacity micro SD [music] card.
6:26 The Mini 5 Pro comes with 42 GB of
6:29 internal storage. But if you're planning
6:31 on taking a lot of footage, especially
6:33 in 4K or even slow-mo, all that space
6:35 will be used up quite fast. So, with
6:37 that, I highly recommend getting a micro
6:39 SD card, something at least 128 GB,
6:41 [music]
6:42 just to be sure. Now, flying the DJI
6:44 Mini 5 Pro is relatively easy, even if
6:47 you're just starting out flying a drone.
6:49 As mentioned earlier, our unit is the
6:51 FlyMore combo package, which comes with
6:53 the DJI RC2 remote, which comes with a
6:57 digital screen, so you can easily see
7:00 everything here. No need to connect your
7:01 phone, even if you're taking off from a
7:03 somewhat tight area. There are multiple
7:05 sensors all around the drone. This makes
7:07 it almost impossible to hit objects
7:09 [music]
7:09 or obstacles when you're flying. The
7:11 fisheye cameras at the front give you a
7:13 nice clear view of everything. And even
7:15 when you're flying in low light
7:16 conditions, you can clearly see
7:18 everything in front of [music] you
7:19 thanks to the upgraded nightcape
7:20 sensors. Now, despite having new mounts
7:23 for the blades, there's not really a big
7:25 difference in terms of the speed the
7:26 drone can fly. DJI claims it can fly up
7:29 to 80 m/s or roughly 64 km/ [music]
7:32 hour in sport mode when weather
7:34 conditions are perfect. It also has a
7:36 range of up to 20 km and a maximum
7:38 takeoff [music] altitude of 6,000 m. But
7:41 given my lack of experience flying
7:43 drones, I didn't want to crash into a
7:45 house or a building here in the metro.
7:47 It's a similar story when it comes to
7:49 flying a longer distance and flying it
7:51 any higher. In fact, there's an auto
7:52 takeoff function which I found myself
7:54 using almost all [music] the time just
7:56 because I don't want to hit anything
7:58 when I'm taking off. But again, you do
8:00 have to take note of the regulations,
8:02 too. The last thing you want is for your
8:04 new drone to hit a helicopter, a plane,
8:06 or even a house or a person just because
8:08 you're sightseeing. That's going to be a
8:10 big issue for everyone. But say for
8:13 example, you're flying out somewhere in
8:15 the province. [music] Thankfully, the
8:16 Mini5 Pro can memorize its flight path
8:19 automatically, returning it home, even
8:21 if the GPS signal becomes [music] weak.
8:24 That way, you'll be sure this drone
8:25 won't just drop into someone's backyard
8:27 or randomly into the forest when,
8:30 wherever, [music] and you have to pick
8:31 it up. As for the battery, the DJI Mini
8:34 5 Pro packs a 2788 milliamp battery pack
8:38 [music] as standard. If that's too small
8:40 for you, there is an optional DJI Mini5
8:42 Pro intelligent flight battery plus with
8:45 a larger 4,680 milliamp hour capacity.
8:49 From our experience with the standard
8:50 battery pack, you have around 30 minutes
8:52 of battery run time, which isn't far
8:54 from DJI's claims of 36 minutes. You
8:57 might think that's not long, but we
8:59 think it's more than enough. If you get
9:00 the Fly More Combo, it comes with two
9:03 additional battery packs and a charging
9:05 dock, too. The charging dock can be
9:07 powered by a capable power bank, meaning
9:08 you won't have to worry about losing
9:10 juice for your drone wherever you may
9:12 be. All in all, the DJI Mini 5 Pro is a
9:15 great drone to own. Whether you're a
9:16 budding filmmaker or just want to
9:18 capture amazing footage from your
9:20 adventures all across the country or
9:22 even around the world. For all that it
9:24 offers, the price isn't that [music]
9:25 expensive either. The DJI Mini 5 Pro
9:28 retails at 40,690 pesos. [music] If you
9:31 want the FlyMore combo like ours, which
9:33 includes the more high-end DJI [music]
9:35 RC2 remote, extra batteries in the bag,
9:37 then that will set you back 57,990
9:40 pesos. [music] If you're someone who
9:42 enjoys flying drones already and want to
9:44 move up from where you are [music] now,
9:46 you definitely can't go wrong with the
9:48 Mini 5 Pro. However, if you're just
9:50 starting out and not sure whether this
9:52 drone will eventually become [music] a
9:54 very expensive paperweight, I would
9:56 recommend sticking to the more
9:57 entry-level drones offered by DJI like
9:59 the Neo or the Flip. Still, if budget
10:02 isn't a problem, you'll definitely enjoy
10:04 your first time flying the DJI Mini 5
10:07 Pro, capturing moments wherever you may
10:09 be. It's got all the safety features to
10:11 ensure you won't crash. And at the same
10:13 time, the new 1 in sensor is very
10:15 capable of taking all [music] of the
10:16 footage you want, whether at night or in
10:19 daylight. But overall, what do you guys
10:21 think of the new DJI Mini5 Pro? [music]
10:23 Is this the drone you'll be buying this
10:25 coming holiday season, or would you pick
10:27 something else [music] to start your
10:29 drone adventures? Whatever the case,
10:31 share your thoughts in the comments

10:46 I'll see you guys in the next video.
