X is set to launch its standalone messaging app called XChat for iPhone and iPad on April 17, based on its listing on the App Store.

XChat will allow users to send private messages to others on X in a separate app focused only on conversations. The company said the app is designed to give users a more direct and private messaging experience.
The app will not include ads or tracking, and messages will be protected with end-to-end encryption. This means only the sender and receiver can read the messages.
Based on early previews, XChat will include features such as group chats, video calls, disappearing messages, and an option to block screenshots. These features aim to give users more control over their conversations.
The app has been under testing since last year and is now ready for public release. Users can already pre-order XChat on the App Store before its official launch.
With this move, X is expanding its services beyond social media by offering a dedicated messaging platform for its users.
