Apple iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max launched

The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max have been launched by Apple during their ‘awe dropping’ event livestream.

Similar to last year, the iPhone 17 Pro boasts a 6.3-inch display, while the Pro Max model has a 6.9-inch screen. Both have energy efficient Super Retina XDR panels with ProMotion refresh rates capped at 120Hz.

Ceramic Shield 2 now protects the display, while Ceramic Shield covers the back panel. In addition, the devices boast a redesigned aluminium unibody for more improved scratch resistance and overall durability.

This iteration of the devices pack Apple’s latest A19 Pro chip and will ship with iOS 26. The Pro series models also sport an Apple-designed vapor chamber for thermal management.

The company claims that it’s capable of up to a 40% improvement on sustained performance compared to the A18 Pro. Plus, connectivity is now powered by the new N1 wireless chip.

This enables Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread. For storage options, both options now start at 256GB. Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is available with a capacity up to 2TB.

For optics, both devices will have a triple-rear 48MP fusion camera system with a main camera, ultra wide, and telephoto. The telephoto supports up to 8x optical zoom and 40x digital zoom.

For selfies, the series now has an 18MP Center Stage front camera, allowing wider shots and AI-assisted group shots. Both sides of the cameras support ProRes RAW, Apple Log 2, and 4K video recording at 120 fps.

The iPhone 17 Pro is priced at USD 1099 (~PHP 62K). Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Pro Max has a price of USD 1,199 (~PHP 68K).

The models will come in Cosmic Orange, Deep Blue, and Cosmic Silver colorways. Pricing and availability details in the Philippines are soon to follow for this developing story.
