Monetizing Blogshares

This might come as a surprise, but considering that even WOW Gold and artifacts are being sold online, Blogshares can be sold for big bucks as well.

For those that are unfamiliar with it, BlogShares is a fantasy stock market where weblogs are the companies. Players invest fictional dollars on shares in blogs. Blogs are valued by their incoming links and add value to other blogs by linking to them. Prices can go up or down based on trading and the underlying value of the blog. No actual ownership of blogs is transfered. BlogShares is purely a fictional marketplace.

It’s fairly addicting especially for those who have gazillions of blog shares.

One Filipina blogger who has been ranking really high in the Top 100 Richest is Laila who currently has a B$2.40 total value and B$5,946,586,845,818.11 cash balance. She’s currently #3 but has been frequently seen on #1 & #2 spot.

I am not sure how much is the exchange rate between blogshares and the real greenbucks but I reckon it’s big enough to pay for your domain and hosting for a decade. :D Just ask her. :)

My rather unpleasant experience with Blogshares. I have them in my referrer blacklist because of that.
