Microsoft to release Office for Android and iOS

A mobile version of Microsoft’s MS Office will be coming to Android and iOS devices in early 2013.

The Office Mobile will be a free app that will allow Android and iOS users to view Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents. Like SkyDrive and OneNote, a Microsoft account will be required when launching the app for the first time. Since the free app only allows viewing of documents, users can enable the editing functionality by purchasing an Office 365 subscription within the app. However, the app can only do basic editing and won’t come close to the functionality of a desktop version.

Office Mobile will work across three major mobile platforms – Windows Phone, iOS and Android. The iOS version is expected to arrive in late February or early March while the Android version will arrive in May.

Who needs Office, I use Google Docs all the time, works for me. It does not matter what platform you’re using as long as you have an internet connection. It’s high time you go cloud based.

And if you want a powerful presentation, then use Prezi, awesome piece of software. It will wow your audience with its panning and zooming features.
