FlameStower lets you charge your phone using Fire!

While browsing for a cool stuff on Kickstarter, we came across this S80 contraption called that allows users charge their USB-touting devices using nothing but fire.

In search of a portable charger that you can use during your outdoor trips (or in emergency situations like power outage), inventors Andrew Byrnes and Adam Kell came up with FlameStower which converts heat from the fire to electricity.

Setting up the FlameStower is rather simple; just place the metal plate close to a heat source, fill the retractable cup with water and you should be charging in no time.

Here’s a video of short demo of the FlameStower:

In order for the FlameStower to enter mass production, Andrew and Adam have taken their creation to Kickstarter and Indiegogo to get some funding. But not even two weeks in to their month-long campaign, the “early bird units” have already sold out and, as we speak, the duo has already garnered USD31,000PHP 1,819,251INR 2,627,244EUR 29,521CNY 225,627 on Kickstarter, more than twice of what they’ve initially signed up for.

To find out more about this awesome portable charger or if you want to back the project up, you can head on over to the source link below which will direct you to the FlameStower’s Kickstarter page.

  2. wow’ great stuff for those who experience power shortage. Perfect for remote area. Having no outlet comes not an alibi not to get connect.

  5. No offense dude, but the Americans are real pea brains. The Chinese are not. Why? Its because you could buy anytime from CDR King a solar charger, that is made by the Chinese, with a built in lithium ion battery that you could bring anywhere. And it cost you only 700 pesos.

  6. Children, chill. Sa akin lang wala akong nakitang mali sa sinabi ni alyas tata. Kaya nga nagpasintabi siya. Ang isa naman diyan, banat agad, kaya yung isa bumanat din. And so forth. Bottomline, kung nambastos ka, I am sure ibabalik sa iyo. But sa akin lang, tatawa lang tiyak si alyas tata niyan dahil, alam niya mababa nga talaga ang pang unawa at naabot ng nagmumura diyan.

  7. How, about we use this for burning those stupid Android, iOS and Windows users alive for their stupidity. Ubuntu Phone is still the best.

  9. Nice ‘_’;

  10. I have seen similar products before already. And I think the one by VOTO outperforms this since you won’t need water for charging.

I remember around three years ago about the concept phone by nokia which will be using body heat as current source. Vodafone also followed this year with their wearable charging device that not only “harvests” body heat but locomotion as well.

  20. Nag away away ung mga kulang sa pag iisip..haha

Di naman sya kelangan icompare sa power bank or lalo na sa Solar panel

Lahat yan may pros and cons

This can be use anytime w/o electricity and with minimal preparation na kelangan..unlike sa power bank or solar panel na kelangan mo pa icharge para magamit.

kahit pa sabihin mong 100000mAh ung power bank mo, useless din un if walang kuryente

And sa solar panel naman, Please consider the portability, I wonder if merong solar panel na ganyan kaliit that would last a “WHOLE 8 hours of constant discharge”(maliban na lang cguro kung isang buwan mo i chacharge :)))

@Tete Do you really think that the chinese are the one who invented the solar panel? isip isip din pag may time

  21. I have been exploring for a little bit for any high quality articles or weblog posts on
