AdSense for Search Data to be nuked

Listen to article

In a recent announcement in the AdSense Publisher panel, Google announced it will be nuking the search query data.

There’s no word from the official Inside AdSense blog but the announcement was quick and short:

Effective December 10, AdSense for Search top query data that’s more than a year old will no longer be available. If you have any critical reports, please run and save them prior to December 10.

The query data is very useful for publishers as this will allow them to see what visitors are searching for after landing on their sites. It’s a nice tool for data mining too.

Not sure why Google would remove this feature from AdSense though but I have a hunch it could be due to individuals or entities making more out of these supposedly nice little feature.
