Apple today officially announced the next version of their popular mobile operating system, the iOS 5 which will be available to you iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch this July.
Changes include over 200 new features to the current line-up of iDevices, some of which were even copied inspired from Microsoft’s Zune and Google Android. They’ve even integrated Twitter into the OS so you can Tweet almost everywhere.
The notification system is now similar to the one on Android (which slides down from the top) and Apple also introduced wireless synching, a feature popularized by Zune players for years now (you no longer need to hook it up to a PC/iTunes to activate or synch files).
iOS5 also introduced iMessage, Newstand, Reminders, multi-tasking gestures and Airplay mirroring (for iPad2).
Check this keynote video of iOS 5 for a more complete and detailed coverage.
The new OS will be rolled out this Fall (sometime in July September). iOS 5 will be compatible with the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPad, iPad 2 and 3rd and 4th gen iPod Touch.

I’m already using iOS5 beta.
iMessage – i guess its better compared to BBM no need to subscribe to BB services 3G/WIFI will do. one disadvantage is that if you have multiple iOS device, it sends to all of your iOS device and you have to read/open it in all of your iOS device, i hope apple fix it that when you read it in one of your iOS device it will be marked as read in all of your idevice.
Notification Center – kind a cool although its already integrated in Android OS.
